About Yas Is

Yas Is (Yasaman Esmaeilzadegan - b. 1991, Tehran) is a writer, critic, filmmaker, and theater producer. With a strong background in cinema, theater, and dramatic literature, she is the founder of "Dastane Ma" Institute, an arts organization dedicated to playwriting, theater production, film, and literary criticism. Her works have been published in leading Iranian newspapers and journals such as Tajrobeh, Etemad, and Shargh. She has written and produced several acclaimed plays staged in renowned theaters across Tehran, as well as short films that highlight her multidisciplinary artistic vision. Yas Is has received multiple recognitions for her contributions to literature and the arts, including honors from the Cheshmeh Publishing Book Festival (Children and Young Adult category) and the Jostār Festival. Through her diverse body of work, she continues to explore the intersections of storytelling, performance, and cultural critique.
